At YourSurprise we believe that software is the key to creating unique and meaningful gifts. Our software supports the gifting moment between two people which we call a ‘happy moment’ and we aim to create 5.5 million happy moments in 2026. This will mean that on our busiest day we have around 100.000 gifts to ship to 28+ countries in and outside of Europe. We only develop software that supports our mission and makes us unique, to ensure we invest our time on things that matter.

Our IT team consists of 30 passionate engineers, divided into smaller autonomous teams led by Nick and Yola. Each team is responsible for a specific domain with YourSurprise. Within our team we have 17 software engineers, 5 data engineers / scientists, 3 support engineers, 3 leads and a dedicated tester. We feel it’s important to learn from each other, so get together to do so on a weekly basis. We use a wide range of techniques and programming languages, including PHP (Symfony), TypeScript (React), NodeJS, GoLang and Python, so there’s something for everyone. When starting a project, we determine which programming language and frameworks are most suitable.
