As an IT intern at YourSurprise, you will be a full-fledged member of our IT team, which consists of around 30 people with expertise in software development, data science, hardware, IT systems, testing, and more. While the team is primarily Dutch-speaking, we do have several international colleagues.

You will be placed on our IT Support team, which is responsible for all laptops, PCs, phones, and other related equipment. This includes system administration, managing the internal network, and handling employee onboarding and offboarding. Our team’s goal is to ensure that every system at YourSurprise runs as smoothly as possible and that our colleagues have the best tools to do their jobs. Our work is incredibly varied and takes place all over the campus, so no two days are the same. Since we handle the IT side of onboarding, you'll be one of the first friendly faces new employees meet.

What You'll Learn

Your colleagues are ambitious professionals who are constantly working to improve the core of YourSurprise. It's important to have an open mindset and to be proactive in solving problems as they arise. We need to be able to prioritize issues and know when to act immediately or when to plan ahead. It's also important to realize that you won't have all the answers. Your colleagues are always there to help, and you’ll have access to tools, like AI, to find solutions.

For your internship, you will be assigned a personal Buddy (your internship supervisor). 

Who We're Looking For

• You must be enrolled in an MBO 3 ICT or MBO 4 ICT programme, either BOL (school-based) or BBL (work-based).

• You live in Zeeland or West Brabant.

• You are eager to learn and are passionate about becoming an IT expert.

• You are ready to use feedback and knowledge from our professionals to get the most out of your internship.

• You have experience with administering IT systems and devices, or you are eager to learn these skills.

• You are a team player who understands that we can achieve more together.

Where will you end up?

You will become part of team IT. Our team consists of 30 engineers and is very diverse from a lot of senior people who have been with YourSurprise for over 10 years to colleagues that just graduated and everything in between. Our team is divided into smaller autonomous teams which take responsibility for a domain or project within YourSurprise. Those teams operate with a high degree of autonomy but still tightly connected with the IT team within YourSurprise in terms of collaboration and sharing knowledge.

Within our team we have 17 software engineers, 5 data engineers / scientists, 3 support engineers, 3 leads and a dedicated tester. Meet our team:
